Teresa McNeill

Hi!  My name is Teresa. I’m a  commended field worship leader looking for a church where I can utilize my gifts and graces in playing, teaching, leading and singing. 

 

I believe worship is a lifestyle and high quality worship music is an avenue of growth for your church. Music builds bridges. It connects people to God and people to each other. It invites community and strengthens our faith. I believe in deference over preference. Deference is unifying, while preference causes division. I believe we all have a music language we long to hear and speak. I believe the worship team is the facilitator of music. The congregation is the participator in music, and God is the ultimate audience of our worship, praise, and affection.

 

I play piano, autoharp, guitar, and Irish flute. I have many years of experience in all genres and styles of music: traditional time-honored sacred hymns, Southern Gospel, Bluegrass, and Contemporary Christian. I have five years of experience substitute teaching in band and chorus. I work with teens and youth to lead praise and worship at Vacation Bible School. I recently completed a post-baccalaureate Certificate in Worship Leadership through Fruitland Bible College and the NC Baptist Assembly’s Worship Leader Boot Camp Cohort program. I earned a diploma in Christian Ministry from Christian Leader’s Institute, and I completed ministry training with CLI, in 2023, with a Commended Worship Minister Diploma and three pastoral endorsements.

 

What I can bring to the table:

·         Able to sight-read music as well as play by ear and improvise

·         Excellent background in chord theory through years of guitar lessons and piano practice

·         Able to teach vocal skills through a method Singing Simplified Vocal Warm-Ups

·         Able to transpose music to best keys for choir, soloist and congregational singing

·         Able to blend traditional hymns with Contemporary Praise choruses to create unique compositions for church choir or soloists

·         Able to create segues between songs to blend hymns seamlessly in creative medleys for church choir

·         Able to record high-quality rehearsal and accompaniment CDs for choirs or soloist use with Studio 1 Artist home recording software suite

·         Experience developing Worship Plans for holiday and liturgical seasons using a variety of free media resources: mini skits, online graphics, video, online hymnals, responsive readings, and free worship music for churches with limited resources
